A teacher at Salaga Senior High School in the Northern Region is said to have fired a gun at some students injuring one due to some deviant behaviors of them which led him to suspending them.
A Salaga SHS teacher in the East Gonja Municipality of the Northern Region has allegedly fired gunshots at some students injuring one of them.
Mohammed Abdul Rauf, is in critical condition after he was allegedly shot by the teacher, Suleman Osman, on Saturday, December 1, according to 3news.com report sighted by cmonline.com.gh.
The incident reportedly happened outside the school’s promises when students had closed from an entertainment programme on campus.
Meanwhile, the injured student together with three others had been suspended from the school for skipping classes and allegedly smoking substance suspected to be ‘wee’.
As a result of this, they were suspended and expected not to take part in any of the school’s activity while they served their suspension term.
However, they disobeyed the school’s decision and took part in the activity. Other students who saw the suspended students reported the issue to the teacher who fired the gun.
‘’He came from the house with the gun and when he came and didn’t even meet them on campus he followed them and shot my brother’’ the victim’s brother reportedly said in an interview.
He added that, the case had been reported to the police but was ‘’looking for money’’ for his brother’s treatment after he was admitted at the Salaga Government Hospital.
‘’ When we reported the issue to the police, they gave us a medical form and we went to salaga government hospital. My brother has since been referred to Tamale and we are looking for money to go,’ he disclosed.
According to the sources, the teacher followed them to ask why they came to the school when they came to the school when they were supposed to be on suspension but a misunderstanding ensued, and the teacher shot and injured one of the students.
